About Christopher

For more than twenty-five years, I've guided people as they explore literature, film, art, and philosophy. I love being a part of everyone’s intellectual journeys, from beginning writers to PhD candidates.

I’ve published scholarship with the Modern Language Association and Oxford University Press, among many others. But my deepest grounding is in the classroom, whether in person or online. I make courses to renew your perceptions and thought patterns, connecting what you read, hear, and see to how you live and the history you share.

Our central course interactions all happen through live meetings, giving you sustained space to listen to yourself, and others, in real time. To create context for meetings, we’ll examine materials from a range of perspectives, supported by explanatory videos. And each time we meet, I’ll combine brief lectures to clarify concepts with sustained discussions to deepen our understanding.

Former student? Welcome back! New student? Glad you’re here! I look forward to meeting new faces just as much as I’m happy to find familiar ones.

See you in class.
